A Message from the Dean

Dear Friends of the STM: 

 

It is now my fourth month as Dean of the Boston College School of Theology and Ministry, and I have enjoyed many kindnesses and expressions of welcome. In my prayers, I frequently find myself thanking God for the opportunity to be here and serve as a colleague to so many fine people. 

What I see clearly is the excellence of the faculty and the generosity of the administrative team. If you know any of them, you know how seriously they take their roles as mentors and formatores who walk with our students. Every day I am grateful for them.

STM's Formación Continua has launched a free multi-language course on the theology and practice of synodality.

During a conference at the Pontifical French Seminary in Rome, STM Associate Professor, André Brouillette, S.J., presented Pope Francis with his most recent book, a volume co-edited with Associate Professor Jeffrey Bloechl from the BC Philosophy Department, titled Pilgrimage as Spiritual Practice: A Handbook for Teachers, Guides, and Wayfarers.

Theresa O’Keefe, professor of the practice, religious education, is back from a year of sabbatical leave. During Theresa’s sabbatical, she contributed a chapter to the forthcoming book on formative theological education, edited by Hosffman Ospino and Colleen Griffith.
